Thank You World!

The strongest typhoon this planet has ever experienced this year, left my country, Philippines, in total disaster and has totally wrecked thousand of lives – children, adults, women, men of different ages and economic status. It’s all over the news and most of my countrymen in Visayas were now homeless and were all back to zero.

It was heartbreaking for all of us.

Thank you world for the prayers.
You never let us feel that we are alone.
You showered us with your encouragements and has given us hope that we can always surpass these tests.

You’ve given us a portion of your lives and a spare of your precious time to help us. For all the countries that has showered us with blessings, be in kind and in cash, Thank you so much.

There is still beauty in this world. Thank you for giving us the gift of giving and the gift of compassion.
There is no enough words that can describe how thankful we really are.

And to the Filipinos from the other side of the world, thank you for extending your help as well. For not forgetting your motherland and for your continuous support.

And let us not forget the heroes, heroines and the leaders that has emerged during this time of disaster. Hats off to your service and selfless acts. To the volunteers who’d shown their love to their fellowmen by helping pack relief goods, those people who went to those affected areas and of course to the journalists and reports who’d risk their lives just to do their jobs and has given us the best picture of “Yolanda”/”Haiyan” . Thank you for all the news you have brought us. Without you, we will still be blinded about our love ones’ safety and condition. One big kudos to all of you.

These loving people who’d helped, prayed, donated in any way that they can are the reason why this world is still a happy place to live in. Let’s not lose hope and we are forever thankful.

And of course, to my favorite celebrities, who’d also expressed their support,  Thank you so much!

Appreciating Loss

Confused Lost Puzzled Signpost Royalty Free Stock Images - Image: 16903019Seeing how stubborn my sister is, made me think how stubborn I was back then. It’s like looking at my own self a few years back.

My sister’s age is 23 now. The same age I wasn’t so fulfilled despite of all the good things life had offered me. May not be top notched but, I should say, I’d rather be grateful for it.

Seeing her made me realize that quarter life crisis do exist.

What else can that be?

  • unfulfilled
  • ungrateful
  • feeling alone and old
  • the feeling you haven’t accomplished anything
  • you compare yourself to others
  • you are generally LOST (caution: this is a blog post from my personal blog and this is a rant post, overly dramatic and it has a big disclaimer that says: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK)

You’re always miserable. You live in a drama filled world. It’s as if nothing can ease your soul and nothing can keep you at peace.

It’s like happiness and peace of mind is so out of reach and unattainable.

Without that urge to look for that “something” that is missing, you can’t be found in the end.

Because of that “eagerness” to find peace of mind and the moment I chose happiness, suddenly, solitude doesn’t seem to become a problem anymore and one by one everything started to make sense.

You started to appreciate the hurtful events in the past (and even in the present) because you realize that without those, you won’t be who you are today.

Without those crying moments, you won’t be a strong entity today.

Without getting lost, you can’t be found.

Who would have thought I’d be embracing those moments now?
